Sudden Rush – Erlend Oye

A sudden rush of expectation as I realise it’s you. Like a river in a droughtful season, how cool you didn’t call! Initial hint of disappointment… The mirror of my smile that isn’t there, that doesn’t follow a very causal ‘hi’

Why did you come at all, If it wasn’t for me?

Another blow of resignation when realise I do; now in your hands the book you borrowed the whole way we first met, comes together in my head… when the picture’s clear you’ve left…

Why did you come at all, If it wasn’t for me?

Girl Afraid – The Smiths

Girl afraid, where does his intentions lay? Or does he even have any?

She says: “He never really looks at me I give him every opportunity; in the room downstairs he sat and stared. In the room downstairs, he sat and stared… I’ll never make that mistake again!

Boy afraid prudence never pays! and everything she wants costs money.

“But she doesn’t even LIKE me! and I know because she said so! In the room downstairs
she sat and stared. In the room downstairs she sat and stared… I’ll never make that mistake again!
